TCU vs. Kansas State best “College GameDay” signs

The Big 12 championship game, in which the No. 4 TCU Horned Frogs play the No. 10 Kansas State Wildcats, will be held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

One of just three unbeaten teams in the FBS, the Horned Frogs may guarantee their berth in the College Football Playoff with a victory in the Big 12 championship game. TCU would be the first school to participate in the CFP, which began in 2014.

A win for Kansas State might put an end to TCU’s chances of making the College Football Playoff. In Week 8, the Wildcats led the Horned Frogs by 18 points, but TCU mounted a remarkable comeback to defeat them 38-28.

This will be the 11th time a regular-season matchup is included in the Big 12 championship game. The Horned Frogs have the advantage historically, as the first-game winner has prevailed in six of the past ten matchups.

At AT&T Stadium, supporters energized the atmosphere with their GameDay placards. Here are a few of the top responses from the group:

Stetson Bennett, the Georgia quarterback, is preparing for yet another important game.

Stetson Bennett, the quarterback for Georgia, had already established his history before this season by rising from a demeaning walk-on to a national championship quarterback. Bennett showed this year that he was still capable of adding to his record of successes, and he will lead the Bulldogs into battle on Saturday with a new one hanging in the balance.

Bennett, a super senior, has once again led Georgia to a flawless regular season record, but this time around he started every game instead of taking over when JT Daniels was hurt early last season. Bennett’s 2022 season had its highs and lows, but his total success cannot be disregarded as the Bulldogs are three victories away from a second national championship.

“I believe he performed nicely. I believe he fulfilled our request for him to do so. We’ll succeed, in my opinion, if he keeps doing that, according to Georgia head coach Kirby Smart. He has faced several strong, capable opponents and performed admirably in those games. He has made a few choices that I believe he would change, but he has also produced some truly amazing plays.

“You could get some of it sometimes when you put a lot of pressure on a guy. You might make a mistake. He could give you something he wishes he had. But he also produced some very amazing plays.

Bennett has already surpassed his personal records for completion percentage (67.2%) and completions (246), attempts (366), and throwing yards with 12 games under his belt (3,151). In terms of scoring touchdowns, he has also been a more effective scrambler. He has 7 rushing scores, which ranks second on the team only to running back Kenny McIntosh.

Bennett’s last two games weren’t extraordinary; against Kentucky and Georgia Tech, he attempted fewer passes than he had all season and finished with just 256 yards, two touchdowns, and a pick. Bennett has nevertheless demonstrated his abilities in that position during this season, and LSU head coach Brian Kelly was aware of this.

He is composed. He emanates a tremendous amount of confidence throughout the movie. I believe he has a starting record of, like, 26-3,” Kelly noted on Sunday. “He has complete control of the offense. That certainly pertains to his preparation, coaching, and teaching. Watching him, it’s clear how assured he is in his abilities as the quarterback.

After Georgia defeated Georgia Tech, Smart talked in-depth about Bennett, noting that he had a huge influence on the program and that the squad embodied Bennett’s competitive tenacity. The Bulldogs’ senior day victory over the Yellow Jackets wasn’t about any one player, Smart made care to emphasize, but the Georgia head coach did add Bennett needs to continue his current play if the Bulldogs are to be successful.

Bennett has accomplished a lot during his time in Athens, and even though his performance in the final stretch of the regular season wasn’t quite as impressive as his earlier ones, the Georgia quarterback has still done enough to put his team in position to once again qualify for the College Football Playoff. Laddd McConkey, a wide receiver for the Bulldogs, said that every time Bennett leads the Bulldogs’ offense onto the field, his teammates have nothing but trust.

“Obviously, the quarterback plays a huge part on any team. He has been doing that for the past two, two and a half, or three years, McConkey added. “He’s taken part in big games. I am aware that he has experienced moments like this before, so it is not different for him. He’s participated in games this size before, so I know he’ll be upbeat. We fully trust him to be our quarterback and expect him to be prepared.

Georgia’s ability to cover

For the first time in school history, the defending national champion Bulldogs completed back-to-back unbeaten regular seasons after posting a 37-14 victory over Georgia Tech last weekend. With Kenny McIntosh gaining 86 yards and a touchdown on the ground for Georgia, they outgained the Yellow Jackets by a margin of 264 to 40. The senior also played a significant role in the team’s aerial attack, contributing 96 yards on two catches.

McIntosh, who leads the club in running yards (654) and touchdown runs, is the Bulldogs’ top rusher (eight). Junior Daijun Edwards, who has rushed for 604 yards and seven touchdowns, provides the club with a potent 1-2 combination. Georgia, which is tied for third in the country with 35 running touchdowns, is led by senior quarterback Stetson Bennett, who has seven more touchdowns.

How LSU can provide

The Tigers’ first game this season against a team in the rankings ended in a loss, as they were defeated 40-13 by then-No. 8 Tennessee. Since then, however, they have won their last two games, thrashing then-No. 7 Ole Miss 45-20 on October 22 and edging then-No. 6 Alabama 32-21 in overtime two weeks later. In the two triumphs, Jayden Daniels was a dual threat and turned in the first of his two 300-yard passing games versus the Volunteers. Prior to throwing two touchdown passes and rushing for 95 yards and the game-winning score against the Crimson Tide, the junior quarterback passed for 248 yards and two touchdowns while gaining 121 yards and three scores against the Rebels.

The Tigers’ best rusher, Daniels, leads the club in both yards (824) and touchdowns (11). Malik Nabers, a sophomore wide receiver who has caught 58 receptions for 726 yards and a touchdown, is his go-to target in the passing game. With five touchdown receptions, senior Jaray Jenkins leads LSU, while junior Brian Thomas Jr. has four.

The mystery surrounding Dallan Hayden persisted for Ohio state football vs. Michigan.

The mystery surrounding Dallan Hayden persisted for Ohio State vs. Michigan.

The mystery surrounding Dallan Hayden persisted for Ohio state football vs. Michigan.

Following Ohio state football 45-23 loss to Michigan on Saturday, there are several things that should be asked. The Buckeyes were humiliated by their opponents for the second consecutive season, despite promising all year that this game would be different.

But one lingering issue is what happened to running back Dallan Hayden. In reality, there is a topic that might have been raised in games preceding the regular-season finale. However, there was an anticipation that the freshman would play versus the Wolverines, which he did not.

“To watch him step up last week was absolutely amazing and encouraging as we approach into this rivalry week,” stated head coach Ryan Day a week ago. “It’s also fantastic to see him take care of the football.” That is the most important thing we require. So he’ll need a strong week of practice, and I know he’ll work hard to be ready to play in this game.”

The initial expectation was that Hayden would not play a significant part during his rookie season. However, injuries to other running backs compelled him to play more. Despite missing co-starters TreVeyon Henderson and Miyan Williams, Hayden rushed for 248 yards and four touchdowns in the two games prior to Saturday.

Hayden didn’t go on the field until late in the second quarter on Saturday. He had two carries for seven yards to complete the game.

Henderson did not play against the Maize and Blue, and while Williams’ return was expected after being hurt in the first half two weeks ago against Indiana and missing the previous week’s game against Maryland, Chip Trayanum’s expanded role was not.

Before the game against Michigan, the former linebacker, who transferred from Arizona State last spring, had only one rush for nine yards. Trayanum was efficient, rushing for 83 yards on 14 rushes and catching one pass for 14 yards, demonstrating the athleticism teammates highlighted during the season.

“We lacked TreVeyon.” “And then Miyan was coming off his ankle, and he gave it a try,” Day remarked following the loss. “But there were some early runs in there that he wished he could have back.” But then we thought Chip might come in and give us a chance, even though he hadn’t played. We needed to play some depth, so Dallan and Chip came in a couple of times.”

Despite only three fourth-quarter rushes, Ohio state football carried for 143 yards on 29 attempts. However, Hayden, who had clearly been the Buckeyes’ top rushing back the previous two weeks, only got one carry through the first three quarters.

When questioned about Hayden during the season, Day lauded him but virtually always brought up ball security. No Scarlet and Gray running back fumbled in a game this season, including Hayden on 102 carries, so this was either an issue in practice or Day’s overall view about freshmen running backs – despite Henderson receiving 183 touches as a rookie previous season.

The outcome may have been the same if Hayden had had more snaps and runs versus Michigan. However, the running back, who is the healthiest of the top three, demonstrated over the last two weeks that he provided a jolt to Ohio State that the Buckeyes could have used against their rivals.

Hayden’s crucial absence from this game, as well as much of the Scarlet and Gray’s season, will remain a strange mystery.
