In Week 1 of Fantasy Football, there are bargains to be found in DraftKings. Some quarterbacks to consider are ones to fade and sleep.

Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em is the ultimate view of the best and worst matchups based on the fantasy football PPR scoring system. This column is not about elite NFL players like Josh Allen, Jonathan Taylor or Cooper Kupp. Instead, I’d look at the players you have questions about who may or may not live up to the expectations of each position. Week 1 Start ‘Em: Quarterback

Start this week

Trey Lance, Bears (1 p.m. ET, Fox): I’m a big fan of Lance this season, so why not make him the first “QB Start of the Week” of 2022? The Bears defense will no doubt need time to function under new head coach and defenseman Matt Eberfroth, and I think this team will go up against the versatile Lance in Game 1. As a dual threat, Lance will have success on the ground and in the air this week.

Broncos’ Russell Wilson (8:15 p.m. ET, ESPN): Wilson will be one of the most popular starters at quarterback this weekend for a revenge game against his old club, the Seahawks story emerges. Seattle is expected to be one of the weaker teams in the league, and Wilson will be motivated to chop off his old lineup in front of a national audience. Let’s watch Russ cook!

Aaron Rodgers, Vikings (4:25pm ET, Fox): Rodgers won’t have superstar Davante Adams, his wide receiver is in question, but I still think he’s the low end of the week No. 1 quarterback. That’s Lie in a head-to-head matchup with the Vikings he’s beaten in recent seasons. In his last two games in Minnesota, Rodgers threw for 749 yards and four touchdowns.

Kirk Cousins ​​vs. Packers (4:25 p.m. ET, Fox): The Packers should have a solid defense, but Cousins ​​has a record against them in Minnesota. He has combined for 47 points in his last two home games against the Cheese Men, and he’s over 21 in three of his past four games at home against the NFC North rival. He should at least start in the Superflex league.

Jaymes Winston, Falcons (1 p.m. ET, Fox): Winston can be hard to trust in most leagues, but I love his second quarterback in a matchup in Atlanta and superflex format. While the Falcons have good cornerbacks, the team’s passing speed is questionable, allowing the quarterback to score nearly 20 points per game last season. Don’t be surprised if Winston posts a nice stat.

Week 1 Sit-In: Quarterback

Seats of the week

Justin Fields vs. 49ers (1 p.m. ET, Fox): I think Fields will be there in a couple of weeks this season, but not against Nick Bosa and the 49ers’ big pass. He’ll also have to deal with Fred Warner roaming the midfield, which will make it difficult for the sophomore quarterback to succeed. If he can rush for a touchdown, he can post a decent line, but Fields’ passing total is mediocre at best.

Derek Carr on Chargers (4:25pm ET, CBS): Of course, I’m on the sidelines with Carr this week, so take that as a warning. While SI Sportsbook has a penalty shootout of 52.5 and he’ll have Davante Adams, Carr has been underwhelming in his career against the Bolts. In fact, he has not scored more than 15.3 points against them in his last eight games. He is better off using the Superflex option.

Tua Tagovailoa vs. Patriots (1 p.m. ET, CBS): Tagovailoa has a lot to prove this season, but this weekend’s game against the Patriots is far from cheap. Their defense can be tough for quarterbacks, making them the second-worst scoring preseason. I know the Dolphins’ offense will be a lot better with a combination like Tyreek Hill, but I’m still wary of Tua as the No. 1 starter.

Carson Wentz vs. Jaguars (1 p.m. ET, Fox): Wentz will likely have a big impact on the Commander’s offense, but I’ll be watching him this week. That’s largely due to the matchup with his arch-rivals, the Jaguars, which may be one reason he’s not yet in Indianapolis. In two games against them last year, Wentz threw for 182.5 yards and 18.2 points per game.

Ryan Tannehill vs. Giants (4:25 p.m. ET, Fox): Tannehill has had an underwhelming 2021, with the return of Derrick Henry and a questionable wide receiver team putting him at risk this week. He also faced a Giants defense that actually gave the quarterback (15 PPG) the third-lowest fantasy score per game last year. So unless you’re in the Superflex or second quarterback league, I’d go with Tannehill.
